Play BINGO while learning how to care for pets.
Activity Details
Time needed: 30 minutes
Materials needed:
- Paper and pencil
- Ruler
- Markers or crayons
- Pictures of pets: magazines and internet sources
- Scissors
- Glue
- Access to pet care content: books, internet or pet expert
Setup: Pets are as different as the people who love them. If you hope to have a pet someday, choose the pet that’s right for you—and learn how to keep it happy and healthy. Or find out how to take the best care of a pet you already have!
Activity: It’s time to play Pet BINGO! Brownies (2nd and 3rd graders)—pick one animal from a box and answer the following questions. You can find information in a book, go online, or ask an animal expert.
- How much does it cost to care for this pet?
- How much space does this pet need?
- How much food does this pet need?
- What kind of human contact does this pet like?
When you find the answers to the questions above, draw an X on the box. Next, move on to other animals and draw an X on those boxes when you’re done with their questions. You’re finished with the game when you’ve completed one row up, across, or diagonally.
