NEW YORK (April 1, 2026) — For a second year, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is offering its Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ membership program for incoming Daisies entering kindergarten and first grade in fall 2026. Open from April 1 through July 31, the program provides girls new to Girl Scouting with a dedicated summer experience focused on friendship and early skill-building to help them get ready for the new school year.

Through the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program, girls who join by July 31 will build confidence, spark their imagination and develop skills they’ll build on as they grow as a Girl Scout. Participants will receive three engaging summer activity books, available in English and Spanish, shipped directly to their homes from June through August, along with a surprise Girl Scout welcome gift, while supplies last. The program includes family-focused newsletters filled with activities and caregiver resources, along with a Girl Scout membership that connects girls to events, new experiences and friendships across the Girl Scout Movement.

Designed with young learners in mind, the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program builds essential skills through play, teamwork and hands‑on activities that spark adventure and curiosity.

“Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ gives girls an early opportunity to explore what Girl Scouting is all about — trying new things, building friendships and discovering their interests through hands-on experiences,” said GSUSA Chief Experience Officer Danielle Shockey. “By engaging girls and families over the summer, the program creates meaningful experiences that help shape how girls see themselves as learners and leaders, while building courage, confidence and character as they begin their Girl Scout journey.”

By signing up for the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program, girls can choose to become a Girl Scout member through September 30, 2026, or select an extended membership that runs through September 30, 2027*.

For more information on the Get Ready with Girl Scouts™ program, visit girlscouts.org/getready. Learn more, join us, volunteer, reconnect or donate.

*The annual Girl Scout membership is valid from October 1 through September 30 of the following year. For a limited time, girls and adults who are new to Girl Scouts can join through the Extended Year membership and be a Girl Scout through September 30, 2027.
