Expedition Australia and New Zealand: June 26–July 14, 2023

 

Experience two amazing countries in this 19-day adventure, including a visit to Los Angeles. You’ll experience the beauty, culture, and adventure of incredible Australia and New Zealand.

 

About the Trip

Two great travel opportunities in one! First you’ll explore New Zealand and then Australia. You will experience the beauty of each country and have the chance to participate in generations-old cultural events, as well as many outdoor activities.

There is so much to see and do on this nearly three-week expedition. Spend the day at the Great Barrier Reef or the Waipoua Forest. Visit the iconic Sydney Opera House, the Bay of Dolphins, and so much more. Meet local Scouts. Explore a rainforest … or two. See a Māori village and enjoy a hāngī feast. Spend time beneath the stars of the Southern Hemisphere. Stretch your legs on beaches, rainforest paths, and city streets. It won’t take long for you to fall for the lands Down Under.

Who Should Apply?

  • Age: Girl Scouts entering grades 9–12 or those who will have just graduated from 12th grade in summer 2023

  • Interests: Passion for trying new things and meeting new people

  • Requirements: Works well in a group, is flexible and open-minded, has traveled away from home (ideally independently) before. Knows how to pack lightly or is willing to learn!

  • Equipment: Passport valid until at least January 2024. A visa is also required; details will be provided after acceptance.

  • Ignite Your Passion! This trip is great for Girl Scouts who are interested in environmental and wildlife conservation.

 

The Cost

Program fee: $7,940

The program fee includes airfare from Los Angeles to New Zealand and Australia. Girl Scouts will need to arrange transportation to Los Angeles International Airport.

Deposit due upon acceptance: $300. (This deposit is already included in your trip program fee.)

Cancellation policy: This tour is organized in collaboration with EF Tours; please review its cancellation policies.

Financial aid may be available. Check with your local council.
