HCA Healthcare announces that the HCA Healthcare Foundation and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) have partnered to develop mental health and mental wellness workshops for girls in grades 4–12. Through this partnership, we aim to promote mental wellness and break down the stigma of mental illness by:
providing younger Girl Scouts with a foundational understanding of mental health and mental illness while empowering them to identify their emotions and develop coping strategies.
equipping older Girl Scouts with the tools to practice self-care, seek help, and support others while empowering them to develop active listening skills and hold courageous conversations.
Thanks to HCA Healthcare Foundation’s support, we are working toward the larger goal of destigmatizing mental illness, normalizing conversations around mental health and mental illness, and delivering workshop content that will be inclusive for girls of all backgrounds.
In addition to collaborating on content development, HCA Healthcare Foundation is providing grants to select Girl Scout councils to help even more girls understand mental health and wellness, as well as how it affects them and their larger community.
