Vidcode is a learn-to-code platform for K-12 schools and libraries – providing standards-aligned creative coding courses to institutions launching or expanding their computer science programs. It is founded by female programmers with a mission to create an online coding experience that appeals as strongly to teenage girls as teenage boys. Each founder discovered her love for computer science via a non-traditional pathway including fine art, design, finance, and math. The result is that Vidcode’s curriculum is cross-disciplinary, allowing for open-ended projects to be created with user-generated media that relate to any subject area. Vidcode is leveraged by parents, teachers, and students who are brand new to coding.
Today, Vidcode serves over 1 million students globally and leverages their research-backed curriculum to teach computer programming through rigorous and visual projects such as memes, data visualizations and augmented reality. Vidcode aims to teach 10 million girls to code as they continue to provide cutting edge courses for students of all backgrounds to find their unique passion for code.
